Sub genres

what are sub genres ? well in a book you have a main genre for example crime/mystery then you would have a sub genre with could be a fantasy .

so a sub genres is an extra point in a story so the books will be more interesting to more people. some times it can be hard to finger out what the sub genre is. especially in certain genres like comedy.

In crime and mystery having a sub-genre can some times be hard to figure out. here are 9 different examples of sub genres in crime and mystery each quite different from each other.

1. In the cosy mystery genre, this genre is normal set in small towns. violence that happens is never described in detail. The detective is usually very passionate about what they doing. 3. The legal thriller, This kind genre needs lots of researches theses books are almost notification but with a made up crime. These story tell you about what happens in or out or just before prison with all details correct about it. example : Joshua Grayson ‘killer justice’

4. Modern PIs. This type of genres are about normal a pi or former cops sometimes even bounty hunters even the ocassaly wise loner. these people are then normal hired by some one to solve a crime or find or hide some thing or some one  Examples: Linda Barnes ‘A trouble of fools’

5.  police procedural . This is just your basic crime story just with lots of details and realistic. the reader this visual taken to crimes and court and any other place in a mystery. the office this also normal under stress or there life is going done.you also will have a secondary characters that add more stress to whats going on. example: Jane Harper ‘ The dry’

6.  medical thriller. This is normally a suspenseful book they take place in hospitals. the main charterer is normally a doctor or nurses and the plot this usually about a unique medicine and medical research.  Examples: Deborah Blum ‘ The Poisoner’s Handbook ‘

7.  forensic thriller  this genre is mainly just about the forensic side of crime. Research is really needed for this book accuracy is essential. most of this book takes place in the crime scenes and morgues. Example: Elly Griffiths ‘ The Chalk Pit’

8. general suspense thriller. The main character generally thrown into the after math of a crime. the main characters is normally and average person who’s called upon to solve what ever has happened. this charterer is then normal a suspected and must prove innocents.  Examples: lee child ‘gone tomorrow’

9. military thriller  the main character normally works for a group like the military, MI5 or MI6, the CIA or the FBI. normally Readers of this genre lot of research is read it for the details as this book has lots of necessary detail and really draws you in.
